Day Trips around Catalonia

A day trip to Vic, the sausage capital of Catalonia

Vic, halfway between the sea and the Pyrenees and only seventy kilometres from Barcelona, is a city rich in contrasts, a place where tradition and modernity have managed to coexist in a balanced way. The visitor can experience the heritage of rural life beside a varied offering of modern buildings and amenities. A perfect place to enjoy the quietness of a small city, but also with an extensive offering of cultural and performance activities.

During the tour, we will taste the local food and walk around the historic centre of Vic, full of buildings with historical, architectural and artistic interest, including the 2nd century Roman Temple, the 14th century walls, the Cathedral and the Mercadal Square, among many other attractions.

  • It is possible to complete this tour with a visit to the interesting Episcopal Museum of Vic or to the Ecogranja Salgot, a unique sustainable farm 20 minutes from Vic by coach
  • On Tuesdays and Saturdays, a market is held in the Plaça Major where, among other things, you can buy the city’s famous cured sausages.
