DATE: April 10th at 10am
The neighborhoods of Vallvidrera, Tibidabo and Les Planes are part of the district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi since 1890. The old village of Vallvidrera (Vall del Vidre), which grew up around the church of Santa Maria, had a marked rural character until the construction of the reservoir, the Aigües road, the Tibidabo and the arrival of the streetcar and the funicular railway turned this place into one of the favorite destinations of the rich people of Barcelona, who built sumptuous summer towers here.
During the guided tour we will discover the fascinating history of the old town and we will have the opportunity to discover beautiful natural landscapes, millenary churches, hydraulic infrastructures, abandoned hotels, as well as a great number of modernist and noucentist towers.
