Enjoy Baix Llobregat with a very complete experience that includes a guided tour of Colonia Güell, a gentle and beautiful walk to Sant Boi along a stretch -5 km with little unevenness- of the Vía Verde del Llobregat, and a guided walk through Sant Boi de Llobregat.
Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, Colonia Güell is one of the best preserved industrial colonies in Catalonia. Distributed and equipped as if it were a small village, the place houses an important modernist complex. The old colony is still inhabited and the neighbors live village life. And it seems that time has stopped here. The place is ideal for strolling around and trying to imagine what life must have been like for the workers who, during the day, worked in the textile factory that Eusebi Güell had built in 1890 on his Can Soler de la Torre estate in Santa Coloma de Cervelló, to escape the social conflicts that were raging in Barcelona.
Sant Boi de Llobregat, the second most populated city in the region, has an interesting historical site, which includes remains of the Roman baths, the Can Torrents museum, the Can Barraquer farmhouse -the last residence of Rafael Casanova- or the baroque church of Sant Baldiri. Also of interest are the restored modernist factory of Can Masallera or the famous Psychiatric Hospital built in the nineteenth century.
