DATE: October 2nd at 10am
Enjoy the Barceloneta’s Festa Major with a complete guided tour and relax with a beer in front of the sea.
From September 29th to October 3rd the Barceloneta neighborhood celebrates its main festival on the occasion of the feast of San Miquel. An unbeatable opportunity to discover the fascinating history of the seafaring neighborhood of Barcelona and enjoy its festival.
The streets of Barceloneta, with its seafaring and industrial past, still retain a certain popular and modest air, with balconies full of clothes and small bars, always impregnated by the light, the smells and the atmosphere of the port, the beach and the Mediterranean Sea.
But did you know that the neighborhood, with its straight streets and modest houses, was built on the initiative of the military? Why did the “Torín”, Barcelona’s first permanent bullring, become a symbol of the workers’ movement? Where were the famous baths? Who lived in the neighborhood and in what conditions? What remains of that industrial and seafaring Barceloneta?
