DATE: September 25 at 8.30h
A complete excursion to Collsacabra that will allow us to visit two of the most beautiful villages in Catalonia and enjoy two very pleasant walks with spectacular views and in a unique natural environment.
– TAVERTET
The small village of Tavertet rises on a huge cliff of 200 meters and from the viewpoint of the village you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama, with incredible views of the whole area. The small urban nucleus, declared of Cultural Interest, conserves 48 native houses built between the XVII and XVIII centuries, perfectly restored and conserved, forming a very beautiful set and in perfect harmony with the surroundings.
– WALK FROM TAVERTET TO L’AVENC (Optional)
Pleasant walk of 3km (6km round trip) on a wide and very flat road to the farmhouse of l’Avenc, a beautiful example of Catalan rural Gothic XV-XVI century located near a cliff at 920 m above sea level, which has four houses attached to rural tourism. It is remarkable its environment, with the extraordinary panoramic view offered by the cliffs of the Sima, a natural area of over 300 hectares of great scenic value dominated by an oak forest, pastures and spectacular ravines where it is easy to see large birds of prey.
– RUPIT
Rupit is a charming medieval village nestled theatrically in a spectacular natural environment. The stone houses, streets, squares and bridges of the town seem to dialogue with the rocky cliffs and the beautiful forests of Collsacabra surrounding the village. Strolling and discovering its corners is like traveling through time, which in Rupit seems to have stopped four or five centuries.
– WALK FROM RUPIT TO SALT DE SALLENT (Optional)
This is a very nice and quite easy circular walk to the Salt de Sallent, the highest waterfall in Catalonia. Whether or not there is water in the jump, it is always worth making the excursion because it allows you to enjoy a unique natural environment and spectacular views.
