Enjoy a spectacular excursion to Collsacabra that will allow us to visit two of the most beautiful villages in Catalonia (Tavertet and Rupit) and enjoy a very pleasant walk to the Salt de Sallent.
– TAVERTET
The small village of Tavertet rises on a huge cliff of 200 meters and from the viewpoint of the municipality you can enjoy a spectacular panorama, with incredible views of the Collsacabra. The small village, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, preserves 48 houses built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries perfectly restored and preserved, forming a harmonious ensemble of great beauty.
– WALK FROM TAVERTET TO L’AVENC (Optional)
A pleasant walk of 3km (6km round trip) on a very wide and flat path to l’Avenc, a beautiful Catalan rural Gothic style house from the XV and XVI centuries located on a cliff 920 meters high. Its surroundings stand out, with extraordinary views and a natural space of more than 300 hectares of great landscape value dominated by a forest of oak trees and fields, and with spectacular ravines where it is easy to see large birds of prey.
– RUPIT
Rupit, which seems to have come out of a manger, is a beautiful medieval village theatrically located in an extraordinary natural environment. Walking and discovering some of its corners is like taking a trip back in time. Rupit seems to have stopped four or five centuries.
– WALK FROM RUPIT TO SALTO DE SALLENT (Optional)
This is a very nice and quite easy circular walk to the Salt de Sallent, the highest waterfall in Catalonia. Whether or not water falls from the waterfall, the excursion is always highly recommended, as it allows you to enjoy a unique natural environment with spectacular views.
THE PLAN:
– 8h: We will meet at Plaza Universitat to take our private bus. Stop for breakfast during the journey.
– 10.30-11.30h: Guided tour of the town, stopping at the spectacular viewpoint
– 11.30-13.30h: Hike to l’Avenc (round trip)
– 13.30-14h: Bus to Rupit
– 14-15.30h: Free time to eat
– 15.30-18h: Walk through Rupit and circular walk to the Salt de Sallent
– 18: Return bus, arriving in Barcelona around 8:00 p.m.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WALKS (optional):
1) FROM TAVERTET TO L’AVENC
Very easy hike of 6km (round trip) on a wide and very flat path of about 2 hours duration (round trip).
2) From Rupit to Salt de Sallent
Circular walk of 4.5km without too much difficulty, with 150 meters of accumulated height difference and a duration of approximately 1.5 hours.
If the weather forecast is bad or the situation generated by the Covid19 prevents us, the excursion will be postponed.
