MEDIEVAL WEEK OF SANT JORDI IN MONTBLANC, A LEGENDARY VILLAGE
Let’s discover the ducal and monumental village of Montblanc, with the largest medieval wall of Catalonia, and enjoy one of the most popular and most traditional fairs in southern Catalonia: the medieval week of Sant Jordi. For a week, churches, chapels and old hospitals of Montblanc, all of great architectural and historical interest, dress up to transport us to the Middle Ages. And we cannot forget that Montblanc is the scene where the legend of Sant Jordi took place, since according to tradition it was here where the knight killed the dragon to save the life of the young princess.
POBLET, ONE OF THE LARGEST MONASTERIES IN EUROPE
An impressive architectural ensemble and one of the largest monasteries in Europe. Declared a World Heritage Site, it houses an important monastic community that keeps the spirituality of the place alive. The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet, located in a beautiful spot in the Conca de Barberà region, is one of the most important monastic complexes in Europe. In addition to the magnificent church, an outstanding example of Cistercian art, it preserves almost all the buildings that were constructed according to the needs of a community in full expansion and protected by the sovereigns of the Crown.
