Visit the “Call”, the old Jewish quarter, and discover the highlights of the important medieval Jewish community of Barcelona.
The Call, the old Jewish quarter of Barcelona, is located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter and its streets and houses housed from the 12th century one of the most important Jewish communities of the peninsula until August 1391 when the neighborhood was attacked and its neighbors killed or persecuted.
This guided tour will allow you to learn how the Jews of Barcelona lived and discover the main characteristics of Judaism, a complex combination of religion, culture and tradition.
During the tour, which follows the ancient layout of the Call, you will have the opportunity to learn about the structure of the aljama; discover the main Jewish trades; understand the importance of the synagogues; see the few remains of the Call that have survived and learn about some of the highlights of the most eminent Jews who lived in these streets for almost three centuries.
IMPORTANT: it is essential to wear an approved mask and to respect the safety distance at all times.
