DATE: January 5 at 12 noon
Far from the city center, the old town of Horta, annexed to Barcelona in 1904, was for many years a rural village, with agricultural areas and large farmhouses that, over the years, gave way to imposing summer towers of wealthy Barcelona residents who came to enjoy its healthier air and abundance of water. And it is no coincidence that Horta became, in the nineteenth century, the great laundry of Barcelona.
During the guided tour we will discover the history of the neighborhood, we will learn curious anecdotes and we will walk through some of the most emblematic corners of the old town of Horta: small squares and alleys that recall the rural past of the neighborhood; the old washing places of the beautiful Aiguafreda street; the imposing Campoamor street, with the most important concentration of modernist houses in Barcelona, etc.
