DATE: January 16 at 12.30-14.15h
Poblenou, in the district of Sant Martí, was known for many years as the workshop of Barcelona or the Catalan Manchester because of the large number of factories it housed. This was true until the 1960s, when a large number of factories closed and the vacant lots were occupied by transport companies and warehouses. But this landscape has also changed and since the 1990s the old warehouses and wastelands have been replaced by housing and companies linked to communication and new technologies.
During the guided walk, we will have the opportunity to see the evolution of the neighborhood; enjoy the Rambla del Poblenou, the backbone of Poblenou; contemplate the appearance of some restored and converted factories; discover charming corners, etc.
