During the trip, we&#8217;ll have the opportunity to visit <strong>Carcassonne,<\/strong> the most spectacular medieval city in France; <strong>Mirepoix <\/strong>and <strong>Narbonne<\/strong> , a beautiful city with one of the most spectacular and oldest episcopal complexes (cathedral and episcopal palace) in the country. And if all this weren&#8217;t enough, on Sunday we&#8217;ll enjoy a lovely walk along the <strong>boardwalks of the Narbonne Natural Park<\/strong> and visit two charming coastal villages: <strong>Peyriac-de-Mer<\/strong> and <strong>Bages<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>We stayed in a modern 3-star hotel at Castelnaudary on a half-board basis (dinner + breakfast). <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>&#8211; GUIDED TOUR IN<\/strong> <strong>CARCASSONNE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Carcassonne<\/strong> <strong>is one of Europe&#8217;s most spectacular medieval cities<\/strong> . Its citadel (La Cit\u00e9) transports us to the era of minstrels, ladies, and knights, a fairytale setting where nothing suggests that, as a supporter of Catharism, it suffered the scourge of the Crusaders and that here, in the dungeons of its own castle, Viscount Raymond Roger Trencavel, a great champion of the Cathars, died by poisoning. The impeccable appearance of La Cit\u00e9, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is thanks to Viollet-le-Duc, who carried out its controversial restoration in the 19th century.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2013 GUIDED WALK IN MIREPOIX<\/strong><br data-start=\"25\" data-end=\"28\" \/>Mirepoix is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Occitania. Its central square, full of colorful half-timbered houses, is a true gem. During the guided walk, we will have the opportunity to cross the Perronet Bridge and the Porte d\u2019Aval, admire the House of the Consuls, visit the Cathedral of Saint Maurice, and enjoy its charming historic center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>&#8211; EASY GUIDED WALK -2 HOURS- ALONG THE SPECTACULAR WALKWAYS OF THE NARBONENSE NATURAL PARK AND VISIT TO PEYRAC-DE-MER AND BAGES, TWO LOVELY VILLAGES ON THE EDGE OF THE POND<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Sunday morning, we&#8217;ll enjoy a <strong>beautiful and pleasant 2-hour walk along the boardwalks of the Narbonensis Regional Natural Park<\/strong> . It&#8217;s a lovely, completely flat walk along the boardwalks that rise above the park&#8217;s marshes, separating the land from the open sea. We&#8217;ll also have the opportunity to visit two charming little villages located on the shores of the lagoon: <strong>Peyrac-de-Mer<\/strong> and <strong>Bages<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>&#8211; FREE TIME FOR LUNCH GUIDED TOUR IN NARBONNE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The oldest Roman city in present-day France<\/strong> , capital of the Roman province that would take its name: <em>Gallia Narbonensis<\/em> . The fifth largest city in the country in the 14th century. Seat of an archdiocese from the 8th to the 18th centuries\u2026 They say that what you once had, you still have. And in the case of Narbonne, that&#8217;s certainly true. This small Occitan city preserves a <strong>charming historic center<\/strong> with a beautiful canal and a maze of pedestrian streets. It also boasts a <strong>spectacular cathedral<\/strong> , the third tallest Gothic cathedral in France, after those of Beauvais and Amiens.
